Movie OverviewWazir 2016 is a Indian action thriller film directed by Bejoy Nambiar and written by Abhijat Joshi and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and is produced by Chopra. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles, with Manav Kaul,Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham in supporting roles.

Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officer Daanish Ali (Farhan) meets kathak dancer Roohana (Aditi) in Delhi and they marry, have a little daughter Noori and live a blissful life. Until the day when, while Roohana is having her ghunghroos repaired, Daanish spots Pakistani terrorist Ramiz driving by and chases him with his daughter in the car. Ramiz attacks Daanish’s vehicle and Noori gets killed in the gunfire while Ramiz escapes.

Roohana is shattered and blaming Daanish, completely shuts him out. Daanish moves to his friend and colleague Sartaj’s house where he overhears Sartaj discussing Ramiz’s location in Ghaziabad. Sartaj thinks Daanish has taken sleeping pills but in fact, Daanish appears at the ATS stake-out, blowing up a van and killing Ramiz.

The ATS bosses are enraged as they wanted to get Ramiz alive and find out which politician intelligence sources say he was in Delhi to meet. Daanish is sent away on medical leave.

Grief-struck Daanish tries to kill himself at his daughter’s grave – when suddenly, a mysterious van appears, driving off when Daanish yells at it. But Daanish gets up and finds a wallet lying there with the address of Pandit Omkar Nath Dhar (Amitabh). He goes to return the wallet and meets wheelchair-bound teacher Pandit Dhar who tells him he was Noori’s chess coach – and can teach Daanish as well.
